Safety First

Buffy watched as Dawn opened the gift. It was small but necessary. It was a weapon and she knew her sister would need it.

“This is so cool. You’re the best sister ever.”

“Just don’t lose it…or break it.”

“Are you kidding? I have my own cell phone.”

“I want you to be safe. Something is out there…always is and I can’t always be there to protect you.”

“I don’t get like…a stake…or axe maybe?”

“You are not bringing an axe to school.”

“You did.”

“It was Giles’.”

“Ok. I’m going to bring a stake…just to be safe.”
